Privacy Policy

Your privacy is of great importance to us, and we are committed to protecting all information we hold about you as required by the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993.

What sort of information do we hold?

We hold your contact information, and medical records about the procedure(s) that you are having.

Who sees my information?

This information can be accessed by your anaesthetist, our office staff and third party service providers that we outsource functions to (provided they also have an acceptable privacy policy in place).

Who can this information be shared with?

Normally this information will only be used by us (for providing your anaesthetic and for billing purposes), but on occasion we may need to share this information with other parties:

We may share information with your surgeon, or the hospital, when you have authorised us to do so.

We may share information with the ACC or your insurance company when discussing your case.

We may need to share some of your information with a debt collection agency should this become necessary.

We may also share your information with New Zealand governmental agencies and departments, as required under New Zealand law, or other parties if we have reasonable grounds to believe that there is a risk to your life or health, or that of other parties.

Your personal information is never used for the purpose of direct marketing or released to the public.

Storage

We will take reasonable precautions to ensure that all information we store is kept in a secure environment and accessed only by authorised persons.

As no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted.
